Tony Schmitz served on the organizing committee for the 3rd CIRP Conference on Surface Integrity (CSI). The conference chairs were Matthew Davies, UNC Charlotte, and Rachid M’Saoubi, Seko Tools, Ltd. The conference was held at UNC Charlotte on June 8-10, 2016.
\The goals of the conference were to present trends in studies of surface integrity, understand the formation and consequences of surface integrity obtained after surface preparation techniques have been applied, discuss case studies related to workpiece surface integrity, and identify industrial needs/applications.
