Dr. Schmitz received the 2021 B. Ray Thompson Endowed Excellence in Research Award from the Mechanical, Aerospace and Biomedical Engineering department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The award recognizes excellence in teaching, research, and department contributions.
